So do you like raisins? I like wine…which is grapes, which are like raisins right? These cookies can be made with or without raisins, with chocolate chips or just plain. And my captain emailed me the next day to let me know everyone really loved these cookies 🙂 And I think he was on the fence a little about raisins before trying these. While I obviously can’t come back straight to patrol full time, I am hoping they will put me in our investigation division working with detectives on cases, or in our Real Time Crime Center doing super high tech stuff, or working on background investigations. My meeting went well with my captain and I am so excited about coming back to work. Hopefully because the loved them so much? HR is in the county and city building downtown, and not in the MPD building, so I was surprised word traveled back to MPD about the treats I dropped off to HR. HR had been working with me, to get my health insurance all figured out, so I dropped off a plate of THESE as a way of showing my appreciation. As soon as I walk in the captains office, “Kelly! No cookies?!” Wow…major fail on my part for not coming to work loaded up with cookies! My captain even made mention that HR had told him all about how I had dropped off cookies for them a few weeks back. So after catching up with my people, I left and walked over to the administration building (our police department is divided into two buildings- us patrol folks get our own building) for my meeting with my captain. The disappointment! Everyone at work knows me for my baking…and it is pretty much assumed that any meeting or briefing I am at, I will usually bring in some goodie to share with everyone. I had been so busy working on some other projects, that I had not baked anything for a couple days. Two of my favorite lieutenants were sitting in the Watch Commanders office and were like “Kelly!!! Did you bring us cookies?!?!” Ahhh…no I didn’t. I was early (for once in my life) and ended up going over to the patrol building (my people!) and into the Watch Commanders office. I went into work the other day to meet with my captain, to talk about integrating back into work part time, once Dr. Wow…so what makes this the BEST oatmeal raisin cookie recipe?
